An Artists Bio

Image of Sonya Grabowski

I am a contemporary artist interested in the movement of life, and the way our lives flow in a circular motion. When I repair the precious items our mothers and grandmothers made for us I am using the past to inspire and embrace the future. It is this cyclical nature I speak of that inspires the forward movement of my personal aesthetic.

I consider my prints to be neurotically ornate while still showing my sensual & playful side. When I am not creating art I spend my time weaving and performing the task of antique textile and crochet repair.

My education parallels my life's work, studying art at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, earning an advanced fine art diploma in 2008 & I have currently completed my Bachelor in Fine Art and Art History.

I would like to invite you to enjoy my online gallery. If you find something that inspires you & believe will be a great addition to your home or cottage or if there is something special that I can repair for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Sonya Grabowski
